Louisiana Awarded $156M+ Through GOMESA, an Oil and Gas Revenue-Sharing Program

As Louisiana’s energy industry expands to provide safe, reliable fuel for the world, funding to protect our coast grows too. Louisiana receives these funds through revenue-sharing from the oil and gas industry. These revenues come from lease sales, bonus bids and production on leases granted since 2007. The award will be put towards coastal restoration efforts across 19 parishes.

Louisiana is receiving almost twice as much GOMESA funding today as it did just six years ago, with more than $1 billion in coastal restoration and hurricane protection through GOMESA and the Coastal Impact Assistance Program in the last 15 years. Investing in the land we love through the industry we lead is how Louisiana grows.
