Bayou Region Energy Excellence Shines at Mixer
The Grow Louisiana Coalition (GLAC) welcomed locals from Louisiana’s Southeast region, including Lafourche, St. Mary, Terrebonne and Assumption Parishes, to network and show their support for the future of energy production and innovation in Louisiana.
The event drew a distinguished crowd of industry professionals, community advocates and elected officials excited to promote Louisiana’s thriving energy industry and discuss the vital role energy plays in shaping Louisiana’s future.
“From the beginning, the Grow Louisiana Coalition has championed an expansion of opportunities for the nearly 250,000 people employed by energy in our state, and this event underscores that commitment,” said Marc Ehrhardt, executive director of the Grow Louisiana Coalition. “By gathering here to engage in the issues that matter most to Louisianians, we grow support for energy in the Bayou Region and, above all, across the entire state.”
Demand for American-made energy is at a record high, offering an estimated $80 billion in energy investments slated for Louisiana. This provides transformative funding for our education system, police departments, neighborhoods and public service departments. As a leader in energy production, the Bayou Region plays a significant role in this, and its inclusion is crucial for the future of Louisiana.
“Thanks to Port Fourchon, our region supplies as much as 15 percent of all crude oil imports for the nation, so it is of the utmost importance that we support the energy industry and all it has to offer us,” said State Senator Mike Fesi.
The Grow Louisiana Coalition is a strong supporter of the state’s ‘all of the above’ energy strategy to expand current job opportunities, fund coastal protection projects and encourage energy investments that will protect industry jobs, revitalize local communities and prepare the next generation for a wealth of in-state energy opportunities.
“Here in Terrebonne Parish, energy is the highest-paying industry. For the sake of my community and its livelihood, I have every intention of ensuring that these jobs are protected,” said Jason Bergeron, Terrebonne Parish President. “I am a proud supporter of the energy expansion and am glad to be a part of an initiative that provides a better way of life for the people I serve.”
The Grow Louisiana Coalition thanks its valued partners, South Central Industrial Association, Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce, Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce, Lafourche Chamber of Commerce, South Louisiana Economic Council, Atchafalaya Intracoastal Coalition, Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association and Louisiana Oil and Gas Association alongside Danos for generously hosting the event at their headquarters.
